The last day of Vacation Bible School is finally here, while athletes march in to Pep Rally as soon as the horns are blown, they are excited to finally know the outcome of Smocket! After that, Pastor Ling prayed for the last VBS session before Concert Day.
At the Field Houses, coaches taught our athletes that Jesus could give them joy no matter what happens. Coaches told our young athletes about Paul and Silas while they were in prison, they continued to share about Jesus because they knew what true joy is! After their last training, the young athletes gear up to go through the various rotational sites with the theme of the day being “Jesus gives me joy”! At Team Crafts, athletes learnt made a pom-pom shaker to remind them that Jesus gives them joy even through difficult times! Our athletes are then reenergised with today’s Four Sport Noodles (Fried Loh See Fun) and a round of our athletes’ favourite, Frozen Cups (Ice Cream). In theme of “joy” our field experts at Team Missions gave opportunity to athletes to prepare gifts to share to their neighbours. A perfect way to spread joy! Team Recreation gave our athletes a light feel of how Paul and Silas felt, by recreating a prison-themed game! Our athletes had to work hard to escape the prison by executing their given tasks without failure. Apart from today’s new song “Joy”, our athletes are quickly getting into formation for their big game (concert). They were able to achieve this with the help and coaching by our professional dancers at Team Music! After a rigorous day of activities, our athletes went back to their Field Houses to receive their final word of advice from their coaches. The athletes then marched into Pep Rally with high spirits, cheering on for a final time before the big game! Don’t forget to check out today's photos at the gallery! After the special training, the young athletes gear up as they go through the various rotational sites with the theme of the day being “Jesus loves me”! At Team Crafts, athletes learnt how to prepare a net game. This reminded them that Jesus loves them even if we miss shots and make mistakes! The master chefs from Team Snacks prepared a special mix of Referee Rice (Fried Rice) to keep our athletes running for the day! This would definitely prepare our athletes for the upcoming activities. At Team Missions, the field experts shared about how MRA (Malaysia Relief Association) went to help the people at Palu, Indonesia. which reflects today’s theme of “Jesus loves me”. Now here comes the exciting part! At Team Recreation, the athletes had a blast with today’s water games! At Team Snacks, our hardworking athletes were rewarded with Soccer Sandwiches (Tuna Sandwich) and another round of our young athlete’s favourites, Touchdown Fries (Fries). Surely this kept them pumping for their next rotational site! Team Missions continued their story about Palu, Indonesia with sharing the testimony of Pilot Mafella, a Christian pilot. Pilot Mafella testified that he heard the voice of God prompting him to take off 3 minutes earlier and with the help of Agung; an air controller, they were able to save 140 passengers before disaster struck Palu. With Team Recreation, ouryoung athletes had a special task to work together as one to get through a maze, but the catch is they had to get through it while linking arms! Our professional dancers at Team Music then coached the aspiring athletes on how to move with today’s new song; “Get In The Game”. After the rotation sites, the young athletes cooled down at the Field House before ending the day at Pep Rally for a Closing Rally with music followed by dismissal. Today, the athletes learn that God gives hope, even when it seems impossible at times. Coaches gave the illustration on how athletes could put their hope in God with the story of Lazarus where he was brought back to life by Jesus. Here, athletes learn that they could put their hope in God because Jesus can do anything and everything! Even the impossible! After the training session in the Field House, the young athletes went out to various rotation sites for different activities with the main theme being “Jesus gives me hope” At Team Crafts, the experts taught our young athletes to lace up bottle wraps which in contrasts, reminds them that Jesus will be there to tie their shoelaces and give them hope! In Team Recreation, our young athletes learn how to put their hope in each other with a specially crafted game prepared by the experts. Here, athletes had to throw balls over an opaque net, in hopes that their fellow athletes could catch them with their boxes! Lastly at Team Music, professional dancers taught our aspiring athletes on how to groove with today’s new song; “We Have Hope”. Surely the athletes had fun with their music and dance session for today! After the rotation sites, the young athletes cooled down at the Field House before ending the day at Pep Rally for a Closing Rally with music followed by dismissal. Parents were also werved morning coffee by the VBS Breakfast Team. After the Rally, the athletes (children) then proceeded to their Field Houses where their coaches (teacher) gave them their first training session (lesson). Athletes learnt that there is an all-powerful and caring God. They heard about how our caring God will go out of the way just to look for anybody who is lost, astray from the meaning of life or even anybody who is being influenced badly. The parable they learnt shows how we are just like sheep and Jesus being the shephard, he would go and search for us no matter what the cost. After all that training by the coaches, the athletes moved on to various rotation sites, doing different activities realated to the main theme: "Jesus cares about me" At Team Crafts, expert craftsmen taught athletes how to make an Xs and Os clipboard to remind us that Jesus really cares for us, Jesus keeps count of every one of us with those Xs and Os. At Team Snacks, master chefs reenergize athletes with sheep dogs (hot dogs), which again remind them just like how a sheep dog cares for the sheep, Jesus does the same. Athletes are shown how much Jesus cares for them. They are introduced to Palu, Indonesia. The natural beauty of the place! Team Recreation, the experts in the physical area. They designed a tag game, including new rules that enticed the athletes. . Lastly at Team Music, professional dancers for the bible school taught the athletes the joy of music. Athletes learnt to blend with the music, as they learnt the theme song and "Each and Everyday". Some atheletes did not dance, guess the coaches will really have to push them harder tomorrow!
