Amazing Wonder Aviation Overview
We had an AMAZING week at VBS (12-17 Nov 2012) as we visited God’s spectacular natural wonders with 176 children. But it was even more AWESOME to learn that we are God’s special creation too – and we can trust Him to help us overcome circumstances because He has POWER over sin and death. He gives eternal life to all who Admit, Believe and Confess that Jesus Christ is Saviour and Lord. His divine power gives us everything required for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3)

Day 5
It is the final day of the Amazing Wonders Aviation but there was still plenty of energy going around after yesterday’s Amazing Race! Today was all about God’s amazing power over our lives.
The Bible study this morning was taken from Acts 5:12-24. It was about how God told the apostles to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and the new life given to us.
Today was truly an exciting day as the kids played a water game called “Water Rescue”. The kids enjoyed splashing and playing with water balloons. Passengers made their very own photo frame during craft, which was awesome because they can put their class photos in it.
“I wanna walk, I wanna talk, I wanna live IN YOUR POWER” was the upbeat song Passengers learned at the Matterhorn. The Passengers enjoyed the song so much as the Music team lead them to the groove.
During missions, the kids learned about Kelli Jane Barnes, who was only 10 years old when she went for her first mission trip to Columbia with her dad. Closer to home, John Lim followed his mum, Aunty Poh Gek to Miri to help a church there to conduct their church’s VBS. Like Kelli and John, we can serve God at our young age too.
Seafood was today’s menu during snack time at Paricutin Volcano. Sotong balls, tuna sandwiches, and French fries were served today. To top it off, they were also given a cool cup of Coral Reef Milo!
Today, it was all about how we can rely on God’s power on what he wants us to do. As 2 Peter 1:3 states; His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness.
It has been a great week as Passengers learned of God’s amazing power over everything and that includes our lives as well.
We hope to see each and every one of you at the concert day tomorrow! Get a good rest as we take our final flight. See you tomorrow!

Day 4
The energy and enthusiasm of the Passengers came booming in as we began our fourth day at the Amazing Wonders Aviation. We discovered that there is no love so amazing as God’s love for us. Today’s theme is Amazing! God’s Power Over Death.
This morning’s Bible study at Victoria Falls is taken from John 19:31 – 20:20. It is about the death and burial of Jesus. However on the third day, He was resurrected! Indeed His resurrection shows God’s power over death. God sent Jesus to die for us and we can now celebrate that He is alive! But God proved His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! (Romans 5:8).
Under the Northern Lights, Passengers learned of Fred Holcombe, a Navy chaplain, who works aboard the USS Enterprise. He works with sailors & airmen to tell them that if they put their trust in Jesus, He will be with them forever. He and his shipmates can now celebrate wherever this aircraft carrier takes them that Jesus is alive!
Craft time at the Great Barrier Reef was as enjoyable as always. Today, Passengers made a Picture Craft of the garden tomb where Jesus was buried.
Mmm… it sure smells great at Paricutin Volcano because the snacks served today were Nachos and Tortilla Crepes alongside a cool cup of Lava-lava Slush! Passengers had a great time here as they mingled and laughed with their friends, Pilots and Co-pilots.
Down at the Matterhorn, Passengers learned the actions to the song “Worthy”. Though a slow song, the words are indeed meaningful as it speaks of Jesus’ worthiness to receive all power and our praises because He died for our sins.
Today, parents of Passengers had their very own session of VBS too! They were broken into small groups and had Bible study within their groups.
Later in the morning, Passengers together with their parents teamed up to participate in the Amazing Race! We had a total of 25 teams moving to various stations, completing tasks, and having fun together as well. Teams were high-spirited as they vie to be the best among the rest. It was hectic and definitely an epic race not to be forgotten. We thank God for the awesome weather!
We hope everyone had a great and memorable time with one another today. Our fifth and final day at the Amazing Wonders Aviation is gonna be just as astounding! Buckle up your seatbelts, and see you tomorrow!

Day 3 - 14 November 2012
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. Make sure your seatbelts are fastened, Amazing Wonders Aviation has been cleared for take-off.”
Wow, how fast time flies, we are already on the third day of VBS 2012! The topic of the day is Amazing! God’s Power over Sin!
Once the passengers arrived at the airport, they boarded their flights for an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G adventure at Amazing Wonders Aviation!
They did the daily routine of singing the national anthem, Negaraku, and pledging to the Rukun Negara and the Bible in the Worship Rally Hangar. After that, they watched a short daily video clip which had them in knots before proceeding to their respective classes for Bible study.
Bible study today was about how God sent Jesus to die for our sins. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23. Wow, such a deep topic to ponder upon...
The Passengers took a pit stop at Volcano and chow-downed on scrumptious Aviator Hot Dogs. Nothing goes better with hot dogs than a tall glass of Coco Choco! The Passengers washed their hot dogs down with Choco before they continued on their journey.
“A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, that’s what my God is to me!” Worship at Matterhorn was quite a challenge as the passengers learned the steps to the high-spirited and fast-paced song A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Nevertheless, worship today was the epitome of excitement.
The Great Barrier Reef is filled with wondrous treasures. The Passengers made their very own little treasures today at Crafts – a Jesus Disciple bookmark. They can now mark their spot in the different adventures that books can take them to.
The Missions team did a skit for the Passengers according to the story of Grant and Jodie Waller visiting Mahafaly ethnic group of Madagascar. They had to travel through rough roads to reach the Mahafaly, but they persisted through it because they want the Mahafaly to know about Jesus and the greatness of God.
Now off to the Grand Canyon for some fun and games! A game called “Canyon Jumping” was introduced to the Passengers. They enjoyed the games immensely as they jumped with glee.
To summarise the day, we now know that God sent Jesus, and that we could accept His gift of forgiveness. As such, today we learned of the ABCs – Admit to God that we are sinners; Believe that Jesus is God’s Son; and Confess our faith in Jesus as our Saviour and Lord.
Guess what? TOMORROW IS THE DAY OF THE LONG-AWAITED AMAZING RACE! Be sure to come and join us for an exciting and thrilling time. Till then, have a safe flight!

Day 2 - 13 November 2012
Welcome back to the second day of Amazing Wonders Aviation, where Passengers, Pilots and co-pilots continue their adventure as they encounter God’s awesome power!
The day started off with the passengers gathered at the courtyard area and then marching in to the Worship Rally Hangar accordingly.
Here, they were introduced to the Day 2 song. “If God” by our dynamic and energetic Music team! But everyone seems to enjoy the Amazing Wonders Aviation theme song the most.
After that, they headed to their respective airlines for a time of Bible study at Victoria Falls. Today’s study is themed Amazing! God’s Power Over Circumstances. This Bible story is taken from Daniel 6:1-23. It is about how Daniel was being thrown into a den of full of lions. But God was so amazing that He shut the lions’ mouths and Daniel was safe! Photo session today went well as every one was all smiles in their purple t-shirts!
Another round of exciting rotation sites await our passengers once again!
Crafts at the Great Barrier Reef was a little special today as there were 2 crafts; the Lion Postcard and the Jericho Wall Puzzle for the little passengers, the kindergarteners.
Then at the Matterhorn, Passengers spent their time learning the actions to the song “If God”. The song speaks of how if God is for us, who then can be against us? Just as how God protected Daniel when he was in the den of lions
Recreation at the Grand Canyon couldn’t be more epic as the passengers were pumped up for a game of Epic Lions! It’s a game whereby some Passengers were to play as ‘Lions’ and some as ‘Daniels’.
As for snack time at Paricutin Volcano, Passengers were served with mouth-watering Norwegian Salmon Cream Pasta made with love and effort by the snack team.
To top it off, the passengers were thrilled as they munched on some Northern Light Cookies along with Norwegian Fizz.
During Missions under the Northern Lights, we had a great time getting to Michael and his friends from Ghana who are international students studying here in Malaysia. Passengers also got to know about John Forrester & his family during Missions under the Northern Lights. John and his family moved to Alaska to tell the villagers there about Jesus. During his time there, John faces cold temperatures, long distance travelling, and high prices to start new churches.
Through this, we can see that God certainly works in all circumstances and we can put our trust in Him no matter what happens. May the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to Him (Daniel 2:20).
Day 3 awaits us tomorrow at the Amazing Wonders Aviation for another fun-filled day! See you again!

Day 1 - 12 November 2012
Greetings, Passengers, Pilots and Co-pilots! It was indeed a great morning to start off our first day at Vacation Bible School 2012 – Amazing Wonders Aviation. This year at VBS, we are taking off to many different natural Wonders of the World that God had amazingly created.
Passengers came to church with so much energy in them, excited to discover what is ahead of them for the rest of the week. Once the passengers had checked-in to their airlines, they were then ready for take-off as they were led to the Worship Rally Hangar.
Here, they sang the National Anthem and pledged to the Rukun Negara and the Bible. Shortly after that, Passengers also sang and danced to the moves of our theme song, “Amazing Wonders Aviation” and Day 1 song, “Remarkable”.
Soon after, they were guided to their respective airlines for a time of Bible study at Victoria Falls, where today’s study is themed Amazing! God’s Power Over Nature. The Bible story is taken from Joshua 3 – 4. It is about Joshua and the Israelites crossing the flooded Jordon River on dry ground to the Promised Land. As such, Passengers learned that God has power over all things, including nature.
Throughout the morning, Passengers went from sites to sites when the VBS Bell rang. Crafts at the Great Barrier Reef were fun as Passengers made themselves a Bobble Plane.
It was definitely a fun-filled time during recreation at the Grand Canyon. Passengers were very much determined as they played ‘12 Stone Target’, where they have to try their best to fly paper airplanes into a circle made of 12 stones.
Snack time at Paricutin Volcano was really tasty as Passengers filled their tummies with Matterhorn Waffles with Frosty Peaks (Vanilla ice cream) along with Trail Mix and Citrus Quencher.
Meanwhile, Music time at the Matterhorn got the Passengers learning the moves and steps to the song “Remarkable”.
During Missions under the Northern Lights, Passengers got to know about a missionary pilot named Andy Kennedy and 20 other volunteers that flew to hard-to-reach places in Brazil’s Amazon River Basin. The people there are poor and most of them do not know about Jesus.
Today was all about God’s amazing power over everything as it is stated in the Bible; Oh, Lord God! You Yourself made the heavens and earth by Your great power and with Your outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for You! (Jeremiah 32:17)
We’ll be having a photo session tomorrow! A gentle reminder to all: Check-in tomorrow wearing your AWA t-shirts.
See you tomorrow, as we take flight on the 2nd day at the Amazing Wonders Aviation!
